Of late, amongst other things, it has represented the live performances of his songs and music, in beautiful and interesting venues, by an exciting ensemble of exceptional players from around Ireland. Under Robert’s direction, the group endeavour to explore multiple genres and approaches to the material in each performance. The instrumentation experimentation for these shows will encompass a wide array of instruments including drums, bass, piano, synth, harp, clarinet, cello, violin, banjo, mandolin, uilleann pipes, bazouki, EWI, flute, saxophone, harmonica, guitar, percussion and vocals. Robert’s music and songwriting has been described by Hot Press Magazine as “powerful, heartfelt and thought-provoking”. He has previously been selected for industry magazine Record Of The Day and performed at music, arts and theatre festivals including Imagine, LightColourSound and Dublin’s Fringe Festival, supporting artists such as Jack L, Jinx Lennon and Murray A. Lightburn along the way. Longtime collaborator, producer and former Republic Of Loose artist Decaux aka Dec Quinn, who has worked with and/or performed alongside the likes of U2, Sinéad O’ Connor, Cathy Davey, Cry Monster Cry, Thanks Brother, CC Brez and Sing Street soundtrack contributor Zamo Riffman, along with a host of top Irish talent describes Rob as “the real deal”. Subterannean Sounds, respected live original music curators, describe him as “a natural, with the songs and the voice, holding an audience captivated with pin-drop silence. One to watch in 2020.”
