Here’s a short film I made a while ago with a bunch of really great people, along the stunning Coppercoast of County Waterford. As part of a broader feature film concept, the idea was to explore the process of creating the tone and feeling of a post faith/belief world, seemingly inhabited by one soul, a young boy. Much love to all the brilliant gang that worked on it.. Al Power, Declan Quinn, Electra Grant, John Loftus and Thomas Grace. At the time it was called 2 but, eventually, I figured out what it should really be called…
The Great Belief
Made a t-shirt for it to add to the collection in the shop here on the website.
Thanks for watching.
Hope you’re keeping well xx
Today is World Theatre Day, ordinarily the perfect time to tell you the wonderful news that my play, A Story Of Destiny, was just very recently selected to be part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the worlds biggest arts festival, which takes place for the month of August. In light of what is going on right now, rather than hoping it goes ahead, I’ll save my wishes for the health and wellbeing of all of us.
Mind yourselves ♥️

A massive thank you to Libby Grant for hosting the first ever RP GaffGig (home concert) at The Mud House, an incredibly beautiful place with character, soul and a real feeling of peace and tranquility. Add to that a wonderfully appreciative audience of supporters, friends, neighbours, family and Libby’s cats and the hens and donkeys outside, who were listening in too no doubt. It was a magical night of completely original music and song, with the fabulous Ruth Lydon opening the evening by entrancing us all with her harp and Kristof Roberts’ gorgeous interlude with a poignant and open sharing of a song he wrote for his late father. The band for this show was made up of another mix of the finest players around, heroes of mine and truly beautiful people.. Peter Vogelaar, Evan Grace, Aaron Mulhall and Tommy Keating. What a joy to have these songs reimagined, reshaped and relived in such a stunning home by this phenomenal group of musicians. It is also so fantastic to have such seriously talented, kind and generous people as Podge Meade and Noreen Duggan in our midst to capture the night with their awesome photography and thank you so much guys for doing so, you are brilliant. Huge thanks to Podge for also presenting such an amazing spread of refreshments, teas, coffee, biscuits, cheeses, fruits, chutney, breads, crackers etc.. delicious, and to Benny McDonagh for helping to get the place ready and to Pete MacGowan and Linda Fahy for the lighting. It all made for a fabulous night and thank you to everyone who came out to see us and helped in any way at all to make it so special. In many countries like America, Germany, France, Australia and New Zealand, to name a few, home concerts are becoming a huge part of the fabric of helping original artists build a fan base and to grow and sustain their support. If you would like to host an RP concert.. GaffGig.. that is myself, along with any number or combination of the ensemble, at your home, please get in touch and if you would like to keep in the RP loop, please do subscribe to the mailing list.
Next stop.. Whelan’s, Dublin March 25th 🚀

I’ve got to also give a huge shout out to another genius who’s been so great to me and that’s Gerard Dunne. I’ve known Gerard since primary school and he is unbelievably talented at everything he does. Thanks to him I now have this brilliant new website for sharing all the bits and pieces going on at the moment and from over the years. Thank you so much Gerard, I’m so delighted with it.

Thank you so much to Nicholas Kavanagh, A Little Room, Garter Lane and Waterford Arts Council for presenting a reading of my new work, After The Crash, and what was such a lovely engagement afterwards. Thank you to all of those beautiful people who came along to see the latest RP performance at The Parlour Vintage Tea Rooms in Waterford City, especially those who have now come to each of the shows in Tipperary, Kilkenny and Waterford. Also, a very special mention to photographers Podge Meade, Adam Macik and Pete MacGowan for their awesome photographs along the way and again to Podge for the au naturel footage below. As 2020 gathers momentum I’ve got to give a huge thank you to all our special guests at the shows and everyone who has been so supportive in general and to the three magnificent women who have hosted us so perfectly, Linda Fahy at Tudor Artisan Hub in Carrick-On-Suir, Etaoin Holohan in Fennelly’s Of Callan and Sarah Jane Hanton at The Parlour Vintage Tea Rooms. Lastly I want to say how grateful I am to the incredible musicians I’ve had the pleasure of working with so far on this project.. Conor Walsh, Naoise Meegan, Darren Dreelan, Darragh Browne, Ruth Lydon, Evan Grace, Peter Vogelaar and my original band Electra Grant and up and coming superstar, Al Power.
In the roaring 20’s expect more fun, experimentation, music, film, theatre, art, writing, a shop, a brand new radio programme (Radio Robert) and the return of.. A Story Of Destiny!!!
See you soon..
